

Senior Media Relations Executive (Sport) - North America
Intro
Press Box PR, a fast-growing PR agency, is hiring a Senior Media Relations Executive in our growing sport department to expand our publisher network across global markets with an emphasis on North America.
Reporting into the Co-Heads of the Media Relations team, you will work collaboratively to land coverage in various titles across USA and Canada. You will also have the opportunity to work with top tier talent, especially in the build up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The campaigns produced are on behalf of brands including world-leading betting and gaming operators and affiliates and will involve collaboration with the wider agency on brand and other client campaigns for the World Cup.
The role
You’ll be largely pitching content to editors and journalists that cover trending sporting events, including but not limited to the World Cup, as well as any crossover opportunities with global news and popular culture, for example, Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl.
You will have a finger on the pulse attitude, understanding the type of content these publications cover which requires a keen interest in sport relevant to this region.
Your knowledge of both the national and local media landscape will be essential. You will also have a keen eye for detail and the ability to help contribute to engaging and accurate pitches on a proactive and reactive basis.
This role would suit candidates who has previous experience within digital PR agencies or on busy news or sports desks as a journalist and would feel confident transferring their skills to PR. Candidates who have worked actively on campaigns with brands in digital PR agencies are also of interest.

Requirements
- You are media relations professional with a strong interest and knowledge of sport with at least one years’ experience in journalism or digital PR
- A thorough understanding of the sport media landscape in North America
- A great understanding of the sporting calendar - particularly relevant to events in the USA and Canada
- A network of journalist and editor contacts and an ability to expand media lists across various sports and regions in North America
- A willingness to proactively pitch to national and regional media publications in North America
- Varied interest in all sports as well as wider news and popular culture trends leading to proven success of earning coverage
- Comfortable working with senior external stakeholders client-side as well as the agency’s leadership teams
- A willingness to work shift patterns to mirror time zones in the US, typically into evenings with some weekend work required
- Able to work from our London offices for three days a week initially, with option of remote work to be discussed dependent on business needs and development in the role

- Salary: £30,000-£33,000 DOE

Press Box PR operates an office-first hybrid model based on an average of three days a week in our London - Barbican office.
In addition, the successful candidate’s duties will include some work during evenings and weekends as dictated by time zones and major event schedules.
