

From first hire to consultant, Nathan rejoins PBPR
Press Box PR welcomes former colleague and first hire, Fred Nathan, back as media consultant to deliver PR strategy and drive results.
Nathan: "My 13-year career to date spans journalism, TV production, in-house corporate communications and growing Press Box PR from just Alex and myself to a burgeoning business by the time I left back in 2022. I've spent the last few years shaping reputations for some of the UK’s most high-profile and scrutinised organisations, dealing with all aspects of the media and managing agencies, experience that helps me in consulting at Press Box PR.
"I began my career as a national newspaper journalist, working as a reporter and news editor across titles including The Sun and The Mirror, while also freelancing for the likes of the Evening Standard, The Independent and The Telegraph. That time inside busy newsrooms sharpened my instinct for what makes a story land, how journalists think under pressure, and how narratives form and spread. It’s a perspective that continues to underpin everything I do in PR.
"Just after the World Cup in 2018, Alex approached me and I joined Press Box PR as its first hire, helping to grow the business and setting it up for the award-winning success it sees today. During that period, I led media relations strategies for brands across consumer, sport, gaming, financial and corporate sectors, advised clients on reputation management, and helped Alex in winning and delivering major client accounts.
"Since then, I’ve held senior in-house roles at FTSE-listed companies including Tesco and Reach PLC, where I ran complex press offices, advised C-suite leaders, led financial and corporate communications, and handled high-stakes issues spanning sustainability, technology, AI, organisational change and public affairs. Working under intense media scrutiny has strengthened my judgement, pace and ability to balance commercial objectives with reputational risk.
